This is unbearable

Medicaid cuts are in the budget    If Trump cuts Medicaid, my mother may lose her nursing home and she comes to me.  Over the last 7 years since my mom had a stroke that triggered her dementia, there have been moments of     sheer terror. When she was living with my dad, she would tell him she hates him, that she wanted a divorce, throw things at him, call him a coward. He’s 84 and cannot handle her any more.   In one particularly awful incident, he called me to come over. When I arrived she was screaming and when I tried to calm her down, she ran to the corner     continuing that primal scream. The only thing I could do was hug her and tell her I love her until she finally stopped. It was a really hard decision to put her in her nursing home but she needed more care. It’s still awful but we know she’s safe but if one congressperson had their mother call them at 2 AM to tell them goodbye while mom had the nurse’s cord around her neck, they’d be di...
